SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES

Worship at HUMC

Worship is at the center of our congregation’s life. Whether at a contemporary service led by a praise band and song leaders or a traditional service with a choir and a more formal liturgy, our worship experiences are occasions for us to us to hear God’s word in scripture, to lift our hearts in prayer, and to be encouraged in our faith by a message from our pastor.

Members of our congregation are invited to support our worship services in many ways, including:

  • Preparing the church before the service
  • Greeting visitors and congregation members at the door
  • Acting as ushers to guide people into the sanctuary and to communion
  • Reading the weekly scripture from the pulpit
  • Singing in the choir or being part of our handbell ensemble
  • Providing coffee and snacks in the café before and after the service
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES

Traditional – 9:00am

For worshippers who prefer a traditional United Methodist experience, this service includes singing of hymns supported by the church choir and the organ or piano, and a weekly sermon. The church bell choir ensemble may also perform.

Nursery and childcare is available for children younger than 5 in rooms 7 and 8.

Contemporary – 10:30am

For worshippers who prefer a more casual atmosphere, this service features a praise and worship leader (or leaders), our praise team band (drums, guitars, bass, keyboards, tambourine), one or more accompanying vocalists, and a weekly sermon.

Nursery is available for children younger than 3 in rooms 7 and 8.

Additionally, Sunday school is offered for kindergarten through 5th grade in The Big House (the white building facing Old Lancaster Pike).
