Cram the Cafe
July 29-August 18
Cram the Cafe is a school supply drive organized by Hockessin UMC to provide school-aged children in our community with book bags filled with school supplies (grades Pre-K through 12). The drive begins the week of our Vacation Bible School (July 29-August 1), when organizer – Ms. Dawn – holds a contest to see which VBS age group can donate the most supplies. As supplies are collected, volunteers from within our church, as well as Bank of America volunteers, “stuff” the book bags.
Last year, the non-profit organization of Children and Families First were the recipients of more than 50 backpacks filled with school supplies, which were then distributed to the clients they serve. An additional 35 backpacks were given to families in need in throughout New Castle County.
If you are interested in contributing to this year’s “Cram the Cafe” drive to collect school supplies, please contact Michele Godwin at churchoffice@hockessinumc.org. Thank you!
